AP Teachers Transfers 2025 FAQs (Updated 22.05.2025)

1	Teacher on study leave (2024–26) and not completed 5/8 years – eligible for request transfer?	No. Revised from previous "Yes".
2	Will study leave vacancies be shown in counselling?	Yes, but such teachers aren't eligible for counselling.
3	SA surplus post with one eligible for HM promotion – who should apply for transfer?	Junior teacher, unless senior gets promoted, then junior can be retained.
4	Category change in school – how is 5-year cap counted for HMs?	Max 5 years combined for SA and HM cadres in same school.
5	PGTs in Plus 2 schools with 8 years service – compulsory transfer?	Yes. Combined service in same school is counted.
6	PET working & SA(PD) post allotted – less than 2 years – eligible for exemption?	Yes. And SA(PD) post won't be shown as vacant.
7	Teacher who used preferential points in 2023 & had surgery – can avail again?	No. Can be used only once in 8 years.
8	Used spouse points last time, not completed 5 years – use preferential now?	No. Only once in 5 years.
9	Service points for teacher promoted with lean from SGT to SA?	Count from School Assistant joining date.
10	Are MTS teachers eligible for spouse category?	No. They are not regular teachers.
11	Male teacher teaching Intermediate in Girls HS Plus – compulsory transfer?	Only if completed 8 years. Otherwise request transfer possible.
12	Male teacher in Girls HS, 50+ age, not completed 5/8 years – compulsory?	No. Continues until 5/8 years completed.
13	Pending charges – applicable on notification date or application date?	Both.
14	Can SA (PE) opt for MPS HM post?	No. MPS HM is only for PS/UPS/HS primary classes.
15	Language Pandits in UPS/HS – shown as surplus?	Yes. To be adjusted in SA Languages.
16	Rationalized twice – can choose old station points or current + 7 points?	Yes. As per teacher's choice.
17	Girls HS – SA teachers of same subject – who is surplus?	Male teachers, irrespective of seniority.
18	Spouse working in another district – can teacher apply in own?	Yes. Only within own district if spouse not in adjacent district.
19	Completed 8 years in parent management, retiring in 2 years – compulsory?	No. Unless opting for transfer.
20	Used preferential in 2017, promoted later – can both spouses use benefits now?	No. Only one benefit per 8 years.
21	Widow teacher under preferential – can opt single subject HS post?	No. Must go by general vacancy based on merit.
22	From when are agency area points counted?	From date of commencement of the act.
23	FS & HS collocated, FS closed – can FS teachers be adjusted?	No. They are shown as surplus.
24	UP upgraded to HS, primary moved nearby – SGTs adjusted?	No. They are shown as surplus.
25	Why 8-year ceiling for station points in Category 1–4?	As per Rule 6(i) of G.O.Ms.No.22 dated 20.05.2025.
